Lesson Seven: Pleating
This lesson we had a guest talker in to talk about pleating. He has his own pleating business and is one of the last few remaining ones in london. He brough in lots and lots of different examples of pleating that he had done over the years. His samples ranged from simpler pleats to really complicated pleats. He also told us what materials were best to use when pleating and that you have to be very precise to get it right.
There were so many different examples and potos that i took i had to pick a select few to show:









Later on in the lesson we had a demonstration on how to pleat this was to give us a chance of our own to have a go at pleating. First we had to draw the lines on brown paper the scor it and fold them in to place. once we had done that to both sheets of brown paper we could place out fabric in the middle and steam it. once it had cooled down we could then take it out and have a look.
