Lesson Nine: Final wearable structure
In this lesson i started playing around with the tights and glue structures that i had made at home. I played around with it on the mannequin to see what worked and looked best. I tried to get as much detail on the garment, from the different parts of the chair that i had made when glueing it.
These are photos of the working progress:
Once i had played around with the top part of...
Lesson Eight: Starting our Wearable Structure
This lesson we started to think about our final strustures. We had to use one or more of the processes that we had learnt over the last few weeks. I found that i quite liked the out come of the glue and tights process and the deconstrustion process so i chose to use them to create my final structure. To start of i decided that i needed more glue and tight peices to use so at home i use and swivel...
Lesson Ten: final structure
AT home i continued with the deconstrustion of the jacket and re-sewed it back together in a different way to creat a skirt. The uneven edjes and seams gives it really interesting shapes and plaeating. I was goign to attach it to the top bu then chose not to as it would be different as it was a skirt and top and not a dress.
These are images of my final wearable structure:
I am happy...

Lesson Seven: Pleating
This lesson we had a guest talker in to talk about pleating. He has his own pleating business and is one of the last few remaining ones in london. He brough in lots and lots of different examples of pleating that he had done over the years. His samples ranged from simpler pleats to really complicated pleats. He also told us what materials were best to use when pleating and that you have to be...
Lesson Six: Feild Trip Barbican Artgallery
This lesson we were ment to go on a feild tip but due to the tains we couldnt all go together. We were then allowed to go early to go to the gallery or cary on with work at home or in class. I went to the gallery and found the work there really insparational and eye catching. I loved the range of work they had there from the simpler designs to the really complicated ones. I took as many photos as...

Lesson Five: Military Jacket
This lesson we had to unpick jackets that we were given. They were a 1940s style, and once we had un picked different parts and sections we had to create a different garment on a chair. I found this quite hard working on a chair but once i got the hang of it it started to form some interesting shapes and forms.
Before we started playing around with the jackets we spent a lot of time taking photos...
Lesson Four : Tights, Glue and a Chair take 2
This week most of the class cut off there dryed work from there chairs but as i did this last week, played around with it and recorded it i decided to make another one. My partner and I chose a different chair this week as we though it would give us more interesting shapes we also chose not to use the muttern cloth this week as the tights worked so well last week.
To begin we stared out the...
Lesson Three: Tights and Glue on a Chair
This lesson was a lot different to any thing i had done before, i really enjoyed it and found it really fun. It was quite a creative and hands on lesson. I decided to work with both tights and muttern cloth as i have never done this before i didn’t know which one would work best.
To start of i chose a tall chair and covered it in cling film and added extra bit in different areas to give it...
lesson two paper folding
In this lesson we continued with paper folding but on a much larger scale. I used my design from last week and improved it, then copied the design on a large piece of paper to create a large sculpture to play around with and place on the mannequin. I though this was a good way to give us inspiration and different ideas.
These images show the rule i used for my large scale sculpture :
I...
Lesson one paper folding
I really enjoyed my first lesson, it gave me an idea on how the rest of our lessons would be and i was quite excited by that. I had never done paper folding before so this was new to me, i found it really interesting and i was happy with my results. It was interesting to see how my 2D workings using the rule could be turned in to a 3D sculpture and could be manipulated in lots of different ways to...
